GARC-RR-2026-002 · Scoping Review · In Development / Open for Collaboration. Geographic scope: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Autism research has expanded across the Gulf region, but evidence remains distributed across countries, institutions, clinical settings, educational systems and disciplines. GARC is developing a structured scoping review to map its breadth, distribution and characteristics.
What is the scope, distribution, thematic focus and methodological profile of autism research conducted across GCC countries during the defined review period?
The structured scoping-review approach includes systematic searching, screening, data charting and evidence mapping. The protocol, executable search strategy, screening decision framework, data extraction structure, PRISMA tracking structure, preliminary candidate corpus and preliminary evidence-mapping infrastructure have been prepared.
Candidate records are not final included studies until formal screening is complete. Final inclusion decisions and research findings will be presented only after formal review completion.
