Explain the decisions contributors can influence and where authority remains.
Offer clear language, written or asynchronous input, breaks and communication choices.
Agree roles, support and any compensation transparently before participation.
Separate public suggestions from participant recruitment or identifiable research data.
Explain what changed, what did not and why after documented review.
Do not treat one contributor as representative of all autistic people.
Use the existing GARC contact channel with a non-sensitive question and source where relevant. Suggestions are reviewed manually; sending an enquiry does not publish it, recruit a participant or approve a project. Do not include health records or identifiable participant information.
Contact GARC · Researcher expression of interest ↗Ask about preferred format, timing, sensory conditions, support and communication without requesting a diagnosis. Plain-language materials should be reviewed with intended users. Actual studies still require relevant approvals.
